Unlike traditional laser systems, the Discovery Pico operates at ultra-short pulse durations measured in trillionths of a second. This creates a powerful photoacoustic effect that shatters ink particles into microscopic fragments — which your body then naturally eliminates over time. The result? During each session, the Discovery Pico emits precise pulses of light that pass through the outer layer of skin and target the ink pigment beneath. Before Your Treatment You’ll start with a one-on-one consultation where we assess the size, color, depth, and age of your tattoo. We’ll walk you through a realistic treatment timeline and answer every question you have. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to your session for comfort.
During Your Treatment Each session is quick — typically 10 to 30 minutes. You may feel a snapping sensation as the laser works, but most clients find the treatment very tolerable with numbing.
After Your Treatment Some redness and mild swelling is normal and typically resolves within a few days. Small scabbing may appear within the first week — a completely normal skin response that will resolve on its own. We’ll send you home with specific aftercare instructions to support optimal healing.
Results You’ll begin to see fading in the weeks following each session as your body processes the shattered ink. The number of sessions needed varies based on ink color, density, size, and location — we’ll give you a personalized estimate at your consultation.
