What to Expect

Before Treatment

Your Venus Viva™ journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we’ll assess your skin concerns, evaluate areas you’d like to improve, and determine if this treatment is right for you. We’ll review your medical history, current skincare routine, and aesthetic goals to create a customized treatment plan. To prepare for your session, avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, and active skincare ingredients for 5-7 days before treatment. Discontinue any blood-thinning medications or supplements if medically approved. Stay out of direct sun and avoid tanning for at least two weeks prior to treatment. Arrive with completely clean skin free of makeup, lotions, and skincare products. If you have a history of cold sores or herpes simplex, notify us as prophylactic antiviral medication may be recommended.

During Treatment

On treatment day, we’ll begin by thoroughly cleansing your skin and taking pre-treatment photos. We’ll then apply a generous layer of topical numbing cream and allow 30-45 minutes for it to take full effect, ensuring your comfort throughout the procedure. Once adequately numbed, we’ll remove the numbing cream and begin the Venus Viva™ treatment, systematically treating the designated areas with the RF microneedling device. You’ll feel warmth and slight pressure as the device glides across your skin. Most patients describe the sensation as tolerable heat with occasional snapping or pinching feelings. The actual treatment typically takes 30-60 minutes depending on the size and number of areas being treated. After completing the microneedling, we’ll apply a soothing post-treatment serum and cooling mask to calm your skin and minimize discomfort.

Is Venus Viva™ Right for You?

Venus Viva™ is ideal for adults seeking more dramatic skin transformation and who can accommodate slightly longer downtime than traditional microneedling. You may be an excellent candidate if you have moderate to severe acne scarring, deep wrinkles and lines, significant skin laxity or loose skin, rough or uneven skin texture, large pores, sun damage and photo-aging, or if you want more dramatic results than traditional microneedling provides. However, Venus Viva™ may not be suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have active acne, rosacea, or skin infections in the treatment area, have a history of keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing, are currently taking Accutane or have used it within the past 6 months, have metal implants or electronic devices (pacemakers), have unrealistic expectations about results, or cannot commit to proper sun protection during healing. During your consultation, we’ll conduct a thorough evaluation to ensure Venus Viva™ is safe and appropriate for your specific situation.

When Will I See Results?

Initial improvements in skin texture and radiance may be visible within 1-2 weeks once redness and swelling subside. However, the most dramatic results from Venus Viva™ develop gradually as new collagen forms and matures. You’ll notice progressive improvements over 4-6 weeks following each treatment, with continued enhancement for up to 3-4 months as collagen remodeling occurs. Most patients achieve optimal results with a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Severe acne scarring or significant skin concerns may require additional sessions.
