We’ll also discuss what makes it different from one other popular brand, and why you just may adopt Bellafill® as your regular filler treatment from here on out!

Keep reading to learn more!

Bellafill® Overview

Bellafill® is an FDA-approved biostimulatory filler, meaning it works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Bellafill® is made up of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a resin that has been clinically proven to treat acne scars. It has also shown success with targeting volume loss and smoothing both fine lines and deep wrinkles.

Because Bellafill® is so versatile, it can target and treat a variety of concerns while offering many benefits.

Bellafill® Pros

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production while offering more natural-looking results
  • Provides a plump in areas where volume loss has occurred
  • Treats fine lines and wrinkles
  • Targets deeper wrinkles such as nasolabial folds, frown lines, and marionette lines
  • Is the only filler approved to treat acne scars
  • Lasts the longest of all fillers on the market (more on that below!)

Bellafill® vs Juvederm

While both Bellafill® and Juvederm are similar in their treatment of wrinkles and volume loss, there are a few key differences between the two.

  1. Bellafill® lasts longer – Bellafill® has been shown to provide the longest-lasting results, in some cases up to five years, whereas Juvederm typically only lasts 6-24 months. One clinical study even found among a set of patients who received Bellafill®, 87% were still happy with their results after five years!
  2. Bellafill® stimulates collagen – Bellafill® works by stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen, whereas Juvederm is made up of hyaluronic acid; a substance that attracts and retains water. While both have their pros, Bellafill® tends to provide longer-lasting results overall.
  3. Bellafill® is more permanent – Because Juvederm is made up of hyaluronic acid, if necessary it can be dissolved using hyaluronidase. Bellafill® is more permanent in that if you are unhappy with your results, more intensive measures are needed to remove it.

Both Bellafill® and Juvederm have their own pros, which must be weighed depending on your goals of treatment. An experienced provider is the best partner in helping you decide which option is right for you.
